As part of their commitments under the\u00a0Humanitarian Aid Donor Declaration on Climate and Environment<\/i>\u00a0and in support of the\u00a0Climate and Environment Charter for Humanitarian Organisations<\/i>, a group of donors has launched\u00a010 Common Donor Priority Actions on Greening Humanitarian Assistance<\/strong><\/a>. These Priority Actions are designed to deliver meaningful climate and environmental impact. They include both practical, easily implementable steps and more ambitious initiatives that can help drive transformative change across the humanitarian sector (see list below<\/i>).<\/p>\n

In parallel, the\u00a0Secretariat<\/a>\u00a0for the Climate and Environment Charter has been developing clear, practical\u00a0guidance<\/a>\u00a0to support Charter signatories in their greening efforts. A new set of dedicated\u00a0Greening Guidance Pages<\/strong>\u2014closely aligned with the Priority Actions\u2014will be launched shortly. These resources aim to demystify complex greening themes, centralise useful tools and references, and support organisations in fulfilling their Charter commitments while effectively implementing the Priority Actions.<\/p>\n

This event was co-organised by the Donor Greening Working Group Facilitation Team<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0Charter Secretariat<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Part 1:<\/strong> Donors shared how they plan to support partners in implementing the Priority Actions, and how they intend to integrate these into their own humanitarian operations where relevant.<\/p>\n

Part 2:<\/strong> A deep dive into the Common Donor Priority Actions, with the Climate Charter Secretariat presenting the new Greening Guidance Pages and key tools that will support implementation.
\nWe heard from humanitarian organisations on the actions they have already taken and the progress made in line with these Priority Actions and their wider Charter commitments.<\/p>\n
