This plan will address how we could:<\/li>\n<li>Work with partners to develop programmes that support impactful climate adaptation outcomes and improve the resilience of communities.<\/li>\n<li>Factor climate and environmental risks into all our activities and services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Commitment two<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and mature our procurement approach, covering areas such as energy consumption, electric\/petrol cars in fleet, air travel, procurement of single use items, waste management, and the use of recycled materials.<\/li>\n<li>Develop fleet plan for greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions, and then establish a baseline,<\/li>\n<li>Update our travel policy to include goals around carbon reduction.<\/li>\n<li>Business plans that reflect our sustainability goals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Commitment three<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Formally establish the Green Team network with a Terms of Reference and Charter-level document<\/li>\n<li>Empower the Green Team to have more members and volunteers, emphasizing engaging people on creative, local initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Identify local partnership opportunities that promote climate adaptation-related community activity.<\/li>\n<li>Identify ways to strengthen existing partnerships with M\u0101ori organisations, especially in relation to sources of traditional knowledge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Commitment four<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Conclude negotiations to establish a new delegate working on climate change, either in the Pacific or with the Climate Centre in Geneva.<\/li>\n<li>Develop a first iteration of research-based work on humanitarian organisations\u2019 climate roles and responsibilities in Aotearoa New Zealand.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Commitment five<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Work in partnership with government and relevant authorities (including Tangata Whenua, civil society organisations and other partners) to strengthen domestic and international frameworks related to climate change.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Commitment six<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop a communications plan on climate change and environmental sustainability issues.<\/li>\n<li>Develop, for Executive Leadership Team consideration, a range of humanitarian diplomacy options relating to climate and environmental sustainability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Contact: Dr. Rebecca Dudley, Principal Advisor International Humanitarian Law<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:Rebecca.Dudley@redcross.org.nz\">Rebecca.Dudley@redcross.org.nz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-1417","signatures","type-signatures","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>New Zealand Red Cross - Climate Charter<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/www.climate-charter.org\/es\/signatures\/new-zealand-red-cross\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"es_ES\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"New Zealand Red Cross - Climate Charter\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"New Zealand Red Cross: Climate Charter targets for 2023 \u2013 2024 All targets are for the 2023-24 financial year (1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024).
