Taking place on the sidelines of the Regional Humanitarian Partnership Week, this workshop aims to provide an interactive opportunity for signatories of the Climate and Environment Charter based in Asia-Pacific to unpack how they are systematically taking into consideration the commitments of the Charter into design, planning, implementing, monitoring, evaluation and learning cycles of humanitarian programming

Climate-Related Human Mobility in the localization and local implementation of NAPs

In partnership with the NAP Global Network, SLYCAN Trust is excited to share preliminary findings from our ongoing research, which includes case studies from Costa Rica, Senegal, and Sri Lanka. Topics include: the nexus between human mobility. NAP localization, and local adaptation planning; practical applications of these insights for policymakers, researchers, practitioners, and other actors; and, engaging in valuable discussions with experts and practitioners worldwide.

Girls’ and Young Women’s Leadership in Nature-based Solutions for Climate Action

On October 17, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will host a Girls Takeover in celebration of IDG at its headquarters, in partnership with Plan International Asia-Pacific and Plan International Pilipinas. The event will focus on the theme "Girls' Leadership in Climate Action." A hybrid panel discussion will kick off the event, featuring youth, government representatives, civil society organizations, and private sector stakeholders. Panelists include Prachi Shevgoankar (Cool the Globe, India), Dikatauna Kea (Eda Davara Marine Sanctuary, Papua New Guinea), and Sabrina Escalona (Ecosensya Solutions for Environmental Sustainability, The Philippines).

Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APCMDRR) 2024, Manila, The Philippines

The APMCDRR is the main platform in Asia and the Pacific to monitor, review and enhance cooperation for the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 at the regional level. The conference brings together governments, intergovernmental, international, national and civil society organizations, the private sector, science, academia and stakeholder groups to accelerate progress in reducing disaster risk.

Expression of Interest COP29 SHARE Hub side events (ICCAD)

International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) call for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for hosting side events at the SHARE Hub during COP29 has been extended. The new deadline is 28 September 2024. This extension offers additional time for IGOs, NGOs, research institutions, youth, women, indigenous-led organizations, and other stakeholders to submit proposals that align with the SHARE Hub themes of climate resilience, adaptation, just transition, and loss and damage.
The events will be scheduled between 12-21 November 2024 at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Given the limited slots, we encourage you to finalize your submissions as early as possible.
