Groupe URD Targets

Find Group URDs Environment Approach. In addition to research projects, organizational or strategic supports, evaluations, tools and trainings developed on reducing the environmental footprint of aid, Groupe URD is fully committed to the Humanitarian Environment Network (REH, Réseau environnement humanitaire), which it has been facilitating since 2012.

In addition to the Climate and Environment Charter, Groupe URD also signed in December 2020 the Statement of Commitment on Climate by Humanitarian Organisations thereby committing to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2025 and by 50% by 2030 compared to the 2019 baseline.

Regarding its in-house functioning, Groupe URD has set targets for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. To achieve this, three action levers have been defined: 1/ a list of best environmental practices for reducing the carbon footprint of flights; 2/ the capping of air tickets; 3/ the setting up of a carbon fund.

It has also chosen to offset part of its residual greenhouse gas emissions through a carbon offset mechanism. The procedure to be followed is based on the phases of the project cycle.
