Statement by the Signatories to the Climate and Environment Charter for Humanitarian Organizations ahead of COP29

Every year before the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of Parties (COP), the Charter has issued a statement on key challenges, priorities and opportunities at each COP. This year, the Charter Secretariat organized two webinars, one pre-COP and one post-COP.

Webinars:

  • October 2024: Towards COP29: Peace-Climate-Humanitarian collective action brought together climate, peacebuilding and humanitarian actors to share the various initiatives taking place at COP29 and shared opportunities for collective advocacy and action
  • December 2024: Post-COP29 in Baku: Successes, challenges and next steps brought together with the DEC and CALP CVA’s Climate and Environment Community of Practice to share key decisions, implications and next steps for humanitarian organizations and other sectors on advocacy and action as we head towards COP30. Another webinar on 5 December was also organised for viewing.
