Statement by the Signatories to the Climate and Environment Charter for Humanitarian Organizations ahead of COP30

06 November 2025

Every year before the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of Parties (COP), the Charter has issued a statement on key challenges, priorities and opportunities at each COP. The Charter Secretariat released a Statement from Charter Signatories ahead of COP30 you can download the statement below.

COP30 Advocacy Brief

As we prepare for the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, the nearly 500 signatories to the Climate and Environment Charter for Humanitarian Organizations reaffirm our commitment to address the escalating impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities – especially those in conflict, fragile, and protracted crisis settings.

Building on the Statement on COP30 and the 2025 Advocacy Priorities of the Charter Signatories, this COP30 Advocacy Brief aims to provide signatories with clear linkages of the COP30 priorities, the Signatory 2025 Advocacy Priorities with the core messages indicated in the Statement from Charter Signatories ahead of COP30. We hope that the Advocacy Brief will serve as a guide to advocating for stronger integration of humanitarian perspectives in climate policy and finance discussions at COP30 (Belém, Brazil). The example advocacy actions are included as non-exhaustive actions that would meaningfully engage humanitarian perspectives in all decisions.
